Great debut - very slick beats & raps to match
Considering its a debut album there's some breathtakingly well-produced tracks from Kno (one half of CL), who often uses samples from Opera/Classical along with shadow-esque drums to create deep, atmospheric beats. This is matched by emotional but highly fluid rhymes, particularly from Deacon - check out 'Lynguistics' & 'Mindstate' in particular. Its not all deep, meaningful stuff though - the old-school, party-vibed tribute track 'So Live' and brilliant, quirky-sampled posse cut '616 Rewind' in particular shows their witty, party-mode side, and adds a nice degree of diversity to the album, as for the most part do the wide range of guest emcees. There's even a decent instrumental cut on there ('Not Guilty'). All in all this makes for a debut of very high hip hop quality, definately well worth downloading.

This is a must have cd for anyone that likes classical music with rap. This cd Kicks A$$
