Other musicians have rounded out its lineup from time to time, but Dashboard Confessional has always been the brainchild of Chris Carrabba. On 2009′s Alter the Ending, he leads a three-piece band through a number of zippy, emotional pop anthems. The songs are more fleshed-out than some of Carrabba’s acoustic work, but this deluxe edition also includes stripped-down versions of the entire track list, meaning fans who prefer Dashboard Confessional’s softer side won’t be disappointed. – Andrew Leahey
