Amazing kirtan!

Treechick06

Dave has an amazing blend of eastern kirtan with some of his western roots and influences. I had the privilege to attend several evenings of live kirtan with him on a yoga retreat. It was the most amazing kirtan experience I've ever had. He's extraordinary live and even on the CD's his energy clearly comes through. Devikanandana gopala is my favorite on this album. It's blissifying and I get chills listening to it.

Lovely !

Devi2

This has a lovely chill and centered feel to it that is a joy to listen to and chant along. If you enjoy this type of Western kirtan and devotional music, try some Girish and David Newman!

My first taste of kirtan

lynne49

I fell into Dave Stringer browsing around for some yoga music and was blown away. The problem is, I have all his albums and cannot find another western kirtan artist as good. He is coming to my state in May and I hope I can get out to see him...the music can be upbeat, deeply spiritually, or a combination as it pulls your soul in... One thing incorrect on the eMusic listing, it is not christian genre, it should be listed as world genre.

Yes the Best

mckenzie001

I agree. This IS the best western kirtan music I've heard, by a long shot. This is what I've been looking for - high quality singing and instrumentation, very soulful and full of ecstatic feeling. I wish he'd do a version of the Hare Krishna Hare Rama mantra.

Best of Kirtan Singers

waltmayo

I love yoga-music... but I've never liked Kirtan very much. While Dave Stringer is far from the most well-known of the Kirtan artists out there, I think he's the best. This album is so full of energy, you can't help but be taken up in the rush or the live performance. It's terrific.
