Seriously. White Ladder is his best album no doubt (although I do love them all). 5 stars.

Foxy's comments

I like David Gray but I gotta admit, I got a good chuckle out of Foxy's comments. Given the same circumstances I would probably hate him to. Unfortunate.

stick to reviews, please

To foxymophandlemama: If you can't write a review that offers anything other than your own sicko experiences, why don't you just not write anything. I'm sure we're all not interested in your bizarre life. Put it on a blog or something, but leave these spaces for real listener reviews.

I heard David Gray's song (Babylon) on the radio. I didn't know who he was but the song inspired me to buy this cd, and I am so happy I did. His songwritting ability is incredible. Every song stands on their own. This years love, sail away, please forgive me etc. Download all!! If you like this album, look for his live dvd and you will not be disapointed. Thanks Emusic for making this album available.

Dammit.

I hate... I mean, HATE... that 'Babylon' song. My roommate discovered this song my sophomore year, and listened to it nonstop. He had the studio version, the alternate version, the David Letterman version, the Jay Leno version, countless concert versions, other people's cover versions, and probably a version he recorded standing outside David Gray's bedroom during bedtime rehearsals. He played all these versions back-to-back-to-etcetera. He did homework to them, played video games to them, masturbated to them, even listened to it while listening to other songs at a lesser volume. He hung a David Gray poster in our bathroom. I will never forget or forgive. I hate you David Gray. I HATE YOU.

They Say All Music Guide

David Gray’s fan base is strong and active. They have seen him through his years with Virgin Records, during which time he was applauded for his talent, emotive voice, and songwriting skills, yet he never quite broke through to a mainstream audience. White Ladder showcases Gray like never before. It’s an album of such depth and quality that one would be hard-pressed to ignore his talent. Each song is strong and superbly crafted, both in terms of arrangement and delivery. The standouts, “Please Forgive Me” and “This Year’s Love,” are touching and likely to bring a tear to the eye of the listener. This album is definitely a much-needed addition to any quality music collection. With any justice, it will finally bring David Gray the success that he so rightly deserves. – Jaime Sunao Ikeda
