Gorgeous guitar work
but really, you buy his records to enjoy one of the best lyricists of our time. He manages to convey the grandest themes in the most concise way. I am in awe of this guy's gift.

Just about the time I needed reminding that what really counts in music making is A Really Good Song, I stumbled on David Wilcox. Understated singing and solo guitar accompaniment, kind of makes me think of an avuncular John Mayer, but what great songwriting. My faves include "Perfect Storm" and "Reaper Sweepstakes". As a dad with a 15 y.o. and a college senior around, I'm embarrassed to admit that "This Old Car" clipped me an emotional sucker punch. I'll be checking out his other stuff.
Before downloading this album I had only heard one track from this guy and was not fussed BUT this collection of songs really got my attention and are on permanent play. The tone of his voice and tidy guitar work make this a satisfying acoustic listen. Will be looking at his other work with fresh ears.
Another fine effort from DW; amazing acoustic craft as you would expect. "Three Brothers" and "To Love" are simply amazing commentaries.
