This deserves editorial attention as a serious contender for Best of the Year, a beautiful and challenging black metal record that reveals something new on each listen. 2010 was a banner year for black metal - witness Woe's "Quietly, Undramatically", Agalloch's "Marrow of the Spirit", and even the blackened elements of The Body's "All the Waters of the Earth", for example - and it's provided a bounty for fans of extreme music. Sample the bounty ("Phosphene" is a fine choice). SAMPLE IT!
