Outstanding!

Del Shannon was certainly one of the great stylists. His falcetto is right up there with Roy Orbison. His covers are inventive and the Hammond organ provides a period touch.

Indeed the original versions

mr. mark

The original Big Top and later hits, along with choice album cuts from the 60's, in clean true stereo. I've always loved the country flavored "Kelly" and "Little Town Flirt". Even credible covers of Orbison and Dion. (His versions of "Marie" and "Needles & Pins" actually predated the hits by Presley and the Searchers) And Del was rumored to be the replacement for Lefty Wilbury (Roy Orbison), before he also died. Get it now before the price soars in November!

INCREDIBLE ALBUM AND GOOD REVIEWS!

RevBilly88

hats off not only to Larry but to the reviewers clearing up misunderstandings on the originals. forty del shannon tunes for 12 credits. for all those that say "the early 60's produced no great rock and roll" this album begs to differ. Just wish I could get the S.O.B. the put him on Prozac. what a talent. r.i.p. del.

These are correct versions

timevac4

They are the stereo versions though. For Runaway this means it is the alternate stereo album version, not the 45 version. Both takes came from the same session though.

Good Ole Rock n Roll

livoniagurl

Good old fashioned rock sung by a great singer. 40 songs for 12 credits is a great buy. I don't know if they are the original recording, but the sound great to me

I don't think so.....

BackToThePast

I stopped listening at "Runaway". It's not the original recording. Don't know about the rest.

These are the originals and at 12 credits for 40 songs well worth downloading. All the hits and more from one of the sixties most underrated performers

Teenage Graceland

By Wayne Robins, eMusic Contributor

After Elvis went into the Army and before the British Invasion, the years 1958-63 were rock's forgotten years. But they were the years that shaped the musical tastes of baby boomers and of acts from the Beatles and Rolling Stones to Bruce Springsteen and the Ramones. Hear the dance sensations, the one-hit-wonders, the girl groups and doo-wop singers, surfers and rockabilly twangers, the birth of Motown, the evolution of R&B into soul and so much… more »
