I would like to add a footnote to the mention of this album being an aid for meditation; For those who are just beginning the practice of Zazen meditation, music is not a necessary aid, and for those mature in the practice, music is not needed to aid ones entering into samadhi. When performing Zazen, it is very easy to become distracted, especially in the early stages of your practice. As such, listening to music of any kind is seldom recommended, if at all. While music of this sort might aid you in relaxing, it is not essential to the practice of Zazen meditation. However, to say the practice of Zazen is rigid is a very false statement. It is entirely possible that one is more capable of entering samadhi with the aid of music. Though I do suggest that you practice extensively in silence, or in as much silence as is allowable before you practice with the aid of music.

I find most “new age music” too twee for my own tastes. However this particular disc and the previous vol.1 are the perfect music to use as ambient backgrounds to anything that requires calm and peacefulness, meditation, reading or just unwinding after a stressful day at work. If you are a fan of Brian Eno get this now.
