Not to be forgotten

Toocrass

Sometimes this album gets lost in the storied history of Dismember and many seem to think it pales next to "Like an Ever Flowing Stream." While it may be slightly less mandatory than the debut, it pales next to nothing. In many ways this album suffers the same fate as Entombed's "Clandestine." The debut was so amazing that the sophomore effort gets overlooked, but really it's only flaw was being second.

Classic Old-School Death Metal

TheAccuser

If you like death metal then you have this already, simple as that. Before death metal turned into a pointless and annoying excercise in piling as many riffs and beats into every measure as possible, it gave us albums full of dirty, malevolent, eerie, and vicious proper SONGS like this. It's not a flawless album but it's damn good; melodic without sounding too nice about it and successfully invoking an atmosphere of another world...One where demons impale people on hooks after skinning them alive. Also Matti Karki has one of the few truly distinctive voices in death metal.
