This is like laying ears on something someone would spin that hadn't been, or wished that they had been, to Detroit or New York. Very refreshing - couldn't recommend it more.

I downloaded this on the basis of a couple of glowing reviews here in Oz and the 4+ rating here on Emusic helped. But you know what? This isn’t truly great. If it was playing in a bar it would add good energy because it really bumps along and the sounds are tough enough. But to actually listen to? There’s not much to grab a hold of. “Whistling In Tongues” is OK. And “Brownbred” will make it onto a mix tape. But there’s just not enough that’s musical – and by musical, I don’t mean key changes, I mean musical. So buy it for the energy but don’t expect to be really grabbed by most of it.
