Crisp and Clear
Great combination here of easy going and razor sharp riffs. These two trade off leads and licks like old friends telling stories. Relaxed and refreshing.

How many versions of "Summertime" have you heard? Well, Doc plays a solo that will make this version of the best you've ever listened to. The three different tempos on "Sweet Georgia Brown" are also a lot of fun.
This is a fantastic album. Doc Watson and David Grisman are just so comfortable together that you get the sense that they probably could have recorded the first take on every song here, and ended up with a great record. Hard to pick favorites here; the whole album is outstanding.
13 - Paramount yodeling: "Blue as I can Be" 2 -G-rated lovesong for hayseeds: "All About You" 6 & 9 - NPR-ified American classics that remind you how great the songs are though over-used: "Frankie & Johnny" and "Sweet Georgia Brown" Unbelieveable string work. Vocals are very clean, and warm. Fans of Ry Cooder, the Byrds and Abigail Washburn will love this.
Truly a fine work, even as a informal recording, their talents blend beautifully on this one. A must have!
put these two together and they really know how to pick a tune. excellent! highly recommended for anyone no matter what your musical taste.
