Effortless
Where do these songs keep coming from? Every time you turn around, Utah County's Drew Danburry has put out another great collection of low-fi tunes. "Goodnight Gary" is no exception. There are makeshift sing-alongs ("Edited"), lighthearted rockers ("Gas Masks at the Barbecue Beach Party Make Out Session"), and moments of somber grandeur ("The Religion of Me"). As usual, Danburry makes them all seem completely effortless, as if he was making up each song right there on the spot. He continues to sing about his friends and loved ones in such a personal way, that by the end of the record, it's hard not to feel like you're one of the gang.
