A strong debut from the Atlanta rock band that is by no means mired in the dodgy, processed production sounds that marred so many records released in this period. A cross between punky hard rock and bluegrass, the band would later refine their direction, but the title track and “Another Scarlet Butterfly” are great showcases for songwriter Kinney’s budding career as the voice for a new generation of Southern rockers. – Denise Sullivan
