I was thinking of the long-lost band Dryve, so I took a chance and put 'em in Search... My CD is missing, so I was thrilled to find 'em here. A totally solid album. The guitar solo on "Rain" is perhaps the most gentle and artful I've ever heard an electric guitar do (barring Phil Keaggy, of course).
This is one of the best CDs in my entire collection of nearly 1000 CDs--no joke! Before I'd even heard the term "Alt-Country," Dryve had caught me with songs like "Nervous," "She Ain't Ready," and "It's my Fault." Not only did they have some great, hooky guitar, but the Hammond organ is the perfect unifying instrument for these songs. Start by downloading "Nervous", "Thrifty Mr. Kickstar," and "Television," but you're only hurting yourself if you don't get the whole thing--there's not a weak song on this album!
