Agreed, guitar master!

Jazz_juice

The smooth strumming of Earl is just different to others! I love this guy's playing everytime! Soothing most times and when uptempo - its superior to most! I love especially tracks 9, 5 and 2.... of course in that order. Just like very fine wine.

Earl has found his smooth spot

blksmith

Nice mellow sounds one of his best

Just like old times

pudge

Earl is a guitarist's guitarist and this proves why!

Better with age??

Not exactly... nothing to spit at, but Solo Guitar is more enjoyable among his "modern" discs.

Talent Beyond Reproach

Having listened to Earl Klugh since the late 70's, this album brought back memories of days past. The focus was on the guitar playing and not all the other accompaniaments (sp?). Reminded one of the original album which still holds a place in the all time greats...

Smooth, yes, but nicely accomplished

So here's a man who's gone from cutting edge fusion to total smooth. I've been a fan for a long time of his solo stuff and actually downloaded this thinking it was more of that excellent solo Klugh (which, if you don't know it and value quality should give it a listen). Bottom line, it's 'way smooth, but the man's command of the instrument is there throughout. I frankly am listening to it all the time. Sample C'est si bon if you don't believe me -- a surprising standard where this guy has it under control and sounds just very sweet.

Earl of the Guitar

If you love Earl Klugh then you will love this album. Clean and precise guitar with rhythm and soul. Nothing ground breaking just good solid acoustic guitar. Jazz guitar at the top level !
