Paying deserved tribute to Zoot
For those of you that miss Zoot Sims, this album pays tribute to his taste and style better than I can say. That should not surprize those who know Eddie Higgins can always be counted on to deliver fine piano performances, but I didn't know tenor man, John Doughten until this listening. Sure glad I do now. Add elegant bassist Phil Flanigan and zesty drummer Danny Burger for rhythm and you've got one home run after another on this great album. Roger Whitcomb, Jazz Collector.
