I do like Stuff Smith and this was indeed remarkable. Eddie South is technically miles ahead of Stuff – but then Stuff never sold himself on technical chops. For me, some of it's needlessly noodly and it lacks Stuff's gutsy, driving swing. But it's well worth a listen to hear someone playing the heck out of a fiddle.
