Superb singing
This largely gathers together selected tracks from EMI albums from the 1950s and virtually every track is a gem - Litanei is one of the most moving performances I know. There are two very early recordings with Karl Hudez and the recordings with Furtwangler come from a live 1953 Salzburg recital. Some tolerance is needed for Furtwangler who is not a great pianist and tends to play too slowly but Schwarzkopf copes well and is in wonderful voice.
