Simply Soothing

Okeedook

What a crisp and soothing voice she has. The best version of "C'est si Bon" I heard thus far.

Nice pic but nice music too

I was looking for a copy of "Almost Like Being In Love" and in a search, saw her pretty face. I know...that's what the record company wants us to do. But I listened to a few songs, and then downloaded a bunch. She's so clear and clean with a light swing. Search around. She has a number of nice songs on eMusic on various albums.

I stumbled upon the Barlow albums while downloading. Sadly I had already used up most of my downloads and had to wait 'til the next next month for more amunition. Needless to say I spent the next month's allocation on Ms Barlow's album's. Soft gentle and clean her voice captures what what I look for in female jazz singers.

They Say All Music Guide

Named after the 1934 Ray Noble-penned standard made famous by Bing Crosby, The Very Thought of You is the sixth studio album from Canadian jazz vocalist Emilie-Claire Barlow. Released in 2007, it features silky-smooth renditions of Nat King Cole’s “Almost Like Being in Love,” Billie Holiday ‘s “What a Little Moonlight Can Do,” and Mama Cass’ “Dream a Little Dream of Me” alongside interpretations of hits from various musicals including Guys and Dolls, Oklahoma!, and Pennies from Heaven. – Jon O’Brien
