Bach-Complete Flute Sonatas--Emmanuel Pahud
Emmanuel Pahud is simply the best. His playing not only has a beautiful, clean quality, and always expressive phrasing and articulation, but he really *becomes* whatever style he is playing. Here with the Bach, he uses less vibrato, and thhe very pure tone reminds me of a wooden baroque flute. I highly recommend this album, and also his Mozart concertos, his Piazzolla recording with Manuel Barrueco, and all the French flute music he has recorded--Again, Pahud IS the music, each style, composer and period, through his tone and interpretation.
