Hot Music indeed!
This is a wonderful album of music by a nearly forgotten composer. The Nazis did their best to bury both the man (murdered at one of their concentration camps in the forties of the last century) and his music, and for decades they succeeded. But then came this movement to dig all of this "lost" music up and give it good performances. And what discoveries we have had. Schulhoff lived long enough to amass a decent sized catalog and he was apparently a real piano virtuoso. Kathryn Stott, no slouch herself, does full justice to the music and its creator. Unfortunately, this is a good example of a disk that doesn't really work well with emusic's current pricing. At $0.40 per track it works out to $16.40 for the disk. I bought the MP3s at Amazon for $8.99. Can we talk BIS into adopting a per album price?
