atmospheric metal
while bands like haggard, therion, corvus covax, try to merge medieval themes within metal, these guys they adapt metal with medevial themes. this may have the trapping of dark metal with its guitar howl and death growl but it is in a supporting, not dominating, role. the clean angel vocals, the lovely piano interludes, the flutes or recorders, are the stars of the show. a very mature piece of art imho.
