4 song for 6 bucks
This new pricing system is for shtinken! If this were priced normally, I'd buy it. But alas...it's more than twice what it should be. So instead, I'm quitting my emusic subscription. Ciao, emusic.

For some reason, this didn't grab me the first time I listened to it. I gave it a few more tries, but eventually pulled it from my Ipod. Then I heard the band's collaboration with David Karsten Daniels, and their second album with Steven Bernstein, and I redownloaded this to give it another try. Now I'm not at all sure why I didn't like this the first time around! This stuff covers a lot of ground in only 30 minutes. Do yourself a favor and get the other albums, too!
These compositions are brilliant, mixing in some dirty horns, some excellent percussion, and a Flamenco flavour. Not all of us are surprised to see such musical goodness coming out of Richmond, VA. When I heard the review on NPR's Fresh Air, I looked 'em up, and wasn't surprised to see quite a few names that have been kicking around the Richmond scene for years. More please!
