        Flogging Molly, Whiskey On A Sunday

        The L.A. group Flogging Molly is best known for their amped-out rave-ups, delivering songs that blend traditional Irish music with rowdy punk rock. Whiskey on a Sunday strays from that format somewhat, casting the band in a new light as cowpunk troubadours. They work primarily in acoustics, showcasing the broken hearts at the center of their songs and pushing their unique and fractured characters to the fore.

        Normally I'm not a fan of live recordings, but this has lots of energy and great sound quality. Get the rest of Floggy Molly on emusic, too.
