steady funk and tropical percussion too
This album is some lively straight ahead funk with a James Brown feel, toss in some hip-hop too. Check out At the Speakeasy and Straight from the Ground. The percussive flavor of Tremendo Boogaloo is particularly tasty, reminiscent of the Flow Dynamics ep Bossa for Bebo which I also recommend.
