Just a year after the release of their full-length Memento Mori, Flyleaf show off their softer side with the EP Remember to Live. The album serves as a bit of an odds-and-ends collection, featuring remixed versions of Justice & Mercy and Arise, as well as a handful of reworked songs from Flyleafs formative years. Stripped down and gentle, these early songs give fans a glimpse of the soft core that lives at the heart of the bands driving sound, peeling back the layers of slick production and heavy guitars to reveal the emotional foundation that the band is built up from. While this may not be absolutely essential for the casual fan, Flyleaf diehards will definitely be interested to hear what the band was like before it came storming onto the scene with the heaviness of songs like I’m So Sick, and should be able to appreciate the more tender sound thats offered on Remember to Live. – Gregory Heaney
