The fathers of all this music can be found in Glasgow / I wonder why no one here seems to find the connection of Mogwai? But of course ... "The Entire City Was Silent" is a wonderful album ... am glad to have found it here:)
This album is great. If you're into EITS and other more melodic post-rock, you'll love this band. Track 7, "The Entire City Was Silent," is the dopest, but you're cheating yourself if you don't download the whole album.
So I would have to say that this is excellent ambient instrumental Rock. I was glad that someone actually told me about this band or I may never have found them on eMusic, where it seems to be filed under Soundtracks/Other/Other Environmental. Should be right next to Explosions in the Sky.
