supremely ethereal

as I was searching for some music that sounded a bit like "stay with me" a collaboration of Sisters of Shakespear and COF....I found this cd by pure accident...I was enchanted, amazed, enthralled...nothing overdone in this music...beautifully orchestrated...vocals are hauntingly gorgeous...the gutterals are very cool..I felt like I was taken on a gothic journey...upon reviewing the lyrics, I was pleasantly surprised..it was a concept album..among all goth rock available, this will be my longtime fave....and more exciting, a new album in 2011 is expected as per Forever Slave's website...sweetness to my ears this way comes....and yours..

First, the cover is disturbingly alluring. This CD is up there with Within Temptation. Her voice is etherially beautiful (think Liv Kristine) without the discernible mispronunciations of, say, old Nightwish. The male death metal vocals are superfluous but not irritating as with all too many such bands. The music is smooth and catchy, with prominent keyboards. Personally, I wish all these bands would lose the death thrash goth male vocals, but this is one of the few CDs that isn't ruined by it.

With just the right mix of orchestral acoustics and electrical grindings Alices Inferno is the perfect addition ... addiction, to any hardcore goth metalphile's library. The vocals are approaching string-like perfection to the likeness of strativarian ... stratocasterian, epiphany.
