Composer Frank Loesser (who wrote Guys And Dolls, The Most Happy Fella, and other Broadway shows, as well as many movie songs) was married to actress/singer Jo Sullivan, who starred in The Most Happy Fella. In the years since Loesser’s death, Sullivan has toured with a concert revue called The Songs Of Frank Loesser, and this, with The Loessers’ daughter Emily and Don Stephenson, is something of a recreation of that show. It features a selection of some of Loesser’s best, well sung and played by a small band. As such, it contains such songs as “Heart And Soul” and “Two Sleepy People,” along with medleys from Loesser’s shows. – William Ruhlmann
