A bargain, with a few flaws
If you enjoy Fred Astaire, there's a lot going for this collection of songs from his movies. You get well over 2 hours of music for a reasonable price, and the recordings are mostly (if not all) straight from the movies, not re-recordings. The sound quality is mostly okay; most tracks sound like they were ripped straight from DVDs of the movies. A few tracks clearly came from old discs and have the snap and crackle of surface noise in the background. Nothing spectacular, but not dreadful, except for at least two exceptions. The recording of Puttin' On The Ritz has dramatically lower volume than the rest of the collection, and Bonjour Paris ends very abruptly in some full-volume dialog. So, it's a little slap-dash. You shouldn't have to edit files you purchased just to fix volume levels or apply fade-outs, but I did. So, don't expect pristine sound or polished production values, just enjoy some great old songs and fine performances.
