Gescom is a large collective of known and less known IDM/experimental producers including Autechre, Bola and DJ Rob Hall amongst others but thats besides the point as this is still an essential album of glitched out turntablism and acid.
whether autechre are involved or not. you don't need to know that in order to appraise this album, which flits from beats that are almost cliched to sonic intrigues that are equally as interesting as anything booth and brown ever evolved. as much as i respect and love autechre, gescom can stand without them
Gescome is an unbrella name for projects by Autechre's Booth & Brown, Bola's Darrel Fitton, Russell Haswell, Skam's Rob Hall (aka Ad Vanz) and Andy Maddocks (aka MEAM), Mike Williamson (aka Made) and others, totalling upwards of 20 members. Just a warning in case you buy this thinking you're getting the new Autechre release - it seems their involvement ended a long time ago, and gescom have never been the same since.
GESCOM is an alias for Autechre, one of the most crucially important and influential electronica acts to emerge in the mid Nineties.
