Girls in Trouble, Half You Half Me
2011 | Label: JDub Records / The Orchard

How's this for high concept? Girls in Trouble makes music inspired by the triumphs and struggles on Biblical women. That's bound to happen when a multi-talented poet and instrumentalist also happens to be a bible scholar. Alicia Jo Rabins already had a firm grasp on the violin and the fiddle, punk rock and folk music, stirring vocals and insightful lyrics, when she began to study the Torah. Now, along with her bandmate and husband, Aaron Hartman, she incorporates Biblical ladies into her songs, managing to make their stories sound personal, universal, and deeply affecting all at the same time.
