Buy this album.. That is all that needs to be said.. This is one of the greatest live albums of all time.. Loads of power packed in to 2 discs..
The DVD of this show that comes with a brick and mortar purchase of the album is slamming and worth every penny (and has more songs). Otherwise this is an outstanding show.
Have a lot of Mule shows from Muletracks.com and Archive.org but this stands out as one of the best of all.
I would give one possibly even two randomly selected body parts and or organs to have seen this in the live. Just nasty Warren and friends.
If you're a Mule fan and you don't have this set you'd do well to buy the thing at a store. Why? Because this set comes with a DVD. I give this thing 5 stars because of the DVD. You'll probably find yourself watching the performance DVD more than listening to the CDs. Highly recommended.
This live album illustrates Warren's genius as a collaborator. It also is one of the best examples of live engineering I have ever seen. Warren's tones are at their most lush and every nuance is captured beautifully. If you don't get anything else by the Mule you owe it to yourself to download this album.
Listening to this is like hearing new rock for the 1st time in College. If your a late boomer and remember what it was like discovering some rock you hadn;t heard before...and if your new to Go'vt Mule....its just great. Hell, its great anyway.
This must have been one butt kicking show! the CD includes a DVD and is well worth the cost. Because the highs are so high taken as a whole the it's just too long and doesn't sustain itself as well as it may have if shorten to maybe 60 to 70 total minutes of music. That being said you gotta get John the Revolator. Warren sends a chill up your spine in the last line of the song that is unmatched anywhere else in the show. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band just improvised over the last 2 minutes throwing down some serious licks. Robert Johnson's 32-30 is another powerhouse offering. The band rips for 7 minutes after the last verse and none of it is waste. Driving Rain is one of new favorite songs, here it is performed with no frills just a butt kickin rocker with Les Claypool's incredible bass literally driving the song like a good ole boy running shine thru the backwoods.
