Fantastic!
Maybe it's just me but I can hear some old Jefferson Airplane, ala, Grace Slick here. Great cd and so glad I came across it! Looking forward to the next one!

Best blues-rock I've ever heard. Super-catchy and evocative of so many good things I can't list them here. The lyrics have more introspection than it seems at first listen, too.
I found them on the SXSW site and was instantly impressed. I really shouldn't like this woman's voice but with the deep dark background music it works incredibly well. Get it!
Pretty GD impressive; they've got kind of a gypsy-caravan meets Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young sort of thing going on, if that makes any sense. Which it doesn't. Which is why this is awesome. If, for whatever reason, I wasn't able to get this on eMusic, I would actually buy it on CD. Ha, ha... just kidding. That would be stupid.
Great band and one to definitely keep an eye out for! Check out tracks 1 & 5 (Look Out Young Son & Nasty Habits). Not so sure I would compare them to White Stripes, but they do have the same sound as Noisettes (British alternative band, not the new age group). If you want a White Stripes comparison, check out “Gore Gore Girls“.
You never know where you'll find great music, and this is a great example. I discovered Grand Ole Party only yesterday while at a consignment store in Albuquerque, where the manager had just gotten back from San Diego and had this CD playing all day. I was grooving to this CD as soon as the music hit my ears and was super excited to see it available here on eMusic and downloaded it immediately. I definitely recommend it. I've heard Grand Ole Party compared to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (not available on eMusic), not just in musical style but in looks too. Whatever the case, I love 'em.
I heard this band from Daytrotter.com They sound like the White Stripes to me. I hate to compare bands to other bands, but I guess that's what you do when you write reviews on these types of sites so people have some frame of reference, I suppose. Not much else to say. Check them out.
