Greg Dulli never disappoints...

Gonz108

I didn't have this album from Dulli and was surprised to find it here. I love everything from him and was not disappointed once I heard it. This album is a must have for Whigs and Twilight Singer's fans alike.

more great songwriting and performance

I wish he would put more stuff out there because it always has heart, it's always speaks truth and it always makes you think. I know it's cliched by now but the most underrated talent out there.

Dulli...Always The Pimp

DarrenD

This was the album Greg was working on when he learned of the death of a close friend, filmmaker Ted Demme. The emotions of that event caused him to shelve this solo project, seeking refuge instead in the dark musical underworld of his Twilight Singers' masterpiece "Blackberry Belle". A collection of B-sides, sketches ("Get The Wheel" became Blackberry Belle's "Follow You Down") and non-album tracks shouldn't be this amazing. While there's no filler here, highlights include "Cigarettes", "Domani" (one of the best nighttime songs I've ever heard), "Golden Boy" (an absolute pop gem written as a tribute to Twilight Singers drummer Bobby MacIntyre) and "Black Swan". Don't think twice - seriously, grab it right now.

Gonna kill me...

moshbug

I was delighted to find this little gem on emusic - never even realised Greg did a solo album proper! The quality is constant but the standout for me is Cigarettes. What. A. Fucking. Tune. Get the Gutter Twins LP too while yer at it

Greg Dulli is seriously talented. He is a brilliant performer, a great songwriter and an excellent producer. He is only getting better, this album is a tribute to his new sophistication.

2 stars??? have a word

Run

Listen, I'm two tracks in, but he's never let me down yet. This record is sounding awesome - somewhere between Congregation and Black Love (so far!!). What more do you want? 5 stars. Repeat 5 stars. If this album only has two good tracks on it, it'll be worth 10 of any other on this site. (except Entombed and The Haunted. They can stay.)
