You Can't Not Like This Live Concert

chris_gonzales

Greg Kihn had some catchy hits in the 80s. Those songs were good to him. And you can tell by the way he plays them here that he's grateful to the tunes. He plays the hell out of them...as they should be played. In addition, he covers Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Jumpin Jack Flash and these version instantly became my two favorites. His son, Ry Kihn, is a flame-throwing electric guitarist on full gas on these tracks. You will love this concert and find yourself playing these over and over again. This is a guy whose had some fame but who has mainly honed his craft at small venues and outdoor amphitheaters. He knows how to rock - in the true sense- and he knows how to work a crowd. This one's a find...download it...all of it!

Gotta love Greg

The rare live recordings of Greg with his son on Guitar are great. I enjoy listening to Greg every morning on KFOX and his music is still good after all these years.

They Say All Music Guide

Why CMG can’t just come clean and tell the consumer that this is a live record is beyond reason. Anybody who is seeking to purchase a Greg Kihn record doesn’t care what it is anyway: If he’s on it, they’ll purchase it. This kind of deception is common, but in this case it’s utterly unnecessary. This set is a latter-day recorded gig (though it doesn’t say when) and features the Kihn band ripping through his near-hits, his misses, and a slew of great covers. The performance is inspired, it’s tight, and it rocks. The cover of the Only Ones’ “Another Girl, Another Planet,” that opens the set is especially great, as is the reading of Love’s “Little Red Book.” – Thom Jurek
