Less dire than its title suggests ("doom" is the sound of Egyptian drumming's low, clear tones and "tek" its high, crisp beats), this 2004 solo-percussion album focuses on shimmying bellydance beats.

Egyptian tabla drumming is the best !!!
I keep on making my friends listen to this album because it is so incredible. I love the differents techniques and sounds that come off the doumbek.
...then you're dead. What a great album. How does he make "tunes" with percussion? It's amazing to crank this up for energy; one of my favorite house cleaning CD's.
After the first track -- Shake Time -- I was hooked. I don't think I can recommend this quite enough. Give it a try, if you at all think you could like the amazing percussive experience that is Hamdi, then download this now!
I feel compeled to write a review for the first time since becoming a member 10 moons ago.[[[[[[[[-This is fantastic-]]]]]]]]. Thank you Hamdi!!!
Superlative, innovative Dumbek with a tone so rich it's impossible to deny. Usted El-Khayyat is generously gifted. Thank you for this wonderful album.
If you're into doumbek music, or are a doumbek player, this will hit the spot. This guy is one of the hottest players to come around in a long time!!!! Smokin!
