Brought this after hearing harry live and being blown away. Love the recording and the east/ west mix of his music that is so unique. Have downloaded all other recordings on emusic and like them all. This is a great staring point (so is the live recording).
Harry spent a couple of years in Rajasthan learning from the great Mohan Bhatt. He's taken that, melded it with the blues and come up with something totally original and very good. Not only guitar wise, he's also got a 'classic' blues voice. Try 'Great Unknown' or 'Knowing Look of Fate' for a taste.
A great respite from the Stevie Ray Vaughan Wanna-be's. Manx mixes blues and folk with East Indian Indian Rhythms. On this album, he even blends gospel into the mix. You have to hear it to believe it.
