...it's a compilation featuring Hatchback. So how does this compare to the slightly patchy, but largely wonderful, original Milky Disco? Well, there's perhaps nothing to match the dancefloor intensity of, say, Georges Vert's Electric Bird, but overall it may be even stronger. While there are still some tracks keeping the energy level up, a lot have a woozy, narcotic feel, as though Milky Disco was the party in full swing, and this is the dreamlike, sexy, half-remembered small hours. A Raining Patterns epitomises this feeling perfectly, while Life's a Gas (Dub) is particualrly well crafted also, mixing angular early-house effects with a fluid, luscious disco rhythm. Elsewhere it's pleasing to get some Nite Jewel in a format other than vinyl, Expanding Head Band make a welcome return after their astonishing version of Shocking Pinks' Emily, and more established names like Glass Candy, Georges Vert and Hatchback don't disappoint... so get it, and go freak out.
