This still rates as one of my favourite Hawkwind albums nearly fifteen years after it's release, catching the mood of Michael Moorcocks Eternal Champion books perfectly this is really a fantastic album, the only reason not to download it is the fact that the live album companion live chronicles is also on here and adds even more to the songs
I love this album despite there being a hint of songs being crushed to fit into the over-arching idea. Some classics here though, Needle Gun, Zarozina and so on. Well worth a download.
Mike Moorcock turned Hawkwind into science fiction superheroes...Hawkwind brought Moorcock's Elric to life. Metal riffs add the edge to Elric's sword, and synthspace brings on the atmosphere for his rise. Bring on the Stormbringer....bring on the scifi kings.
