uhhh, guys.......

There is no version of Hella that is correct. Each album is distinctly different from every other. Granted, some albums have some crossover with the others, but really, expecting Hella to stay the same is just stupid. That why I like them-- they don't just put out the same album 4 times like most other bands. If you don't like the album, fine, but don't say "this isn't the REAL Hella." because Hella IS what Hella wants to be. Sheesh.

Why is there no 666 in outer space?

I mean the track, any ideas why it's still not available to download? Took a while to grow on me, but I really like this album. Worth the effort I think. Now if I could only hear the last track...

This is not Hella

Atomjack

Hella was a two piece. A damn fine duo. When you add three new members to the band, you might as well change your name. Listen to "Hold Your Horse Is" or "The Devil Isn't Red" and you will get a quick dose of what the Hella of past was all about. This record isn't Hella. At one point they were pointed as an influence on Lightning Bolt and now this proggy slop puke.

I agree with z00york,

unfortunately. I hope Hella fixes their mistake.

Garbage!

Sounds like Hella but with Muse and Mars Volta jumping in on a couple of tracks and ruining everything, a bad Oxes tribute band diving in on some others, then the rest is indescribably crap. The abrasive but gorgeous melodic qualities of their usual guitar - drum interplay just isn't there like it used to be, either that or it isn't apparent because you have to listen to some ass of a vocalist depleting his ear shatteringly gross stench of uninspired excrement over the top of what used to be a great duo. As for the production, I don't like that much either when comparing it to their others. The addition of a vocalist seems to have deleted the structural detail that they used to ingeniously apply to their songs. Definitely not worth it if you loved Hella for what they were before, whilst trying to accommodate for a vocalist they have lost all of their style.

Their best!

I would hate it if any of my favorite instrumental bands picked up a vocalist, but somehow the addition of a singer and a bass player has revitalized this band and it sounds better than ever. I can't stop listening to this album; it is finely honed and mesmerizing!
