Music to journey with

hgreenw

Pandora dished up one of the tracks from this album while I was listening to a station based on H.U.V..A. Networks. I am so excited to find this guy! Each song is carefully crafted, with complex textures, interesting sounds and sustained beats. It's not pop-sounding, but it's not really trance, experimental or down-tempo. Some songs border on an epic sound, like a soundtrack score, or convey movement and make me want to be on a train listening with headphones. I love the darker, melancholy chord progressions, strands of melody and voice samples. Several songs remind me of the brilliant score to the movie Hannah by Chemical Brothers.

Consistently Impressive

Reeeegan

This is the first review I've written on Emusic after subscribing since the beginning of 2009. I feel compelled to do it as this album is easily the most consistent album I've heard for a while. [Human] keeps your attention for the entire hour. Superb! I eagerly await more. Rather than cherry-pick tracks, I recommend that you grab the whole album. You won't be disappointed.

Strikin the Psyche!!!

emjayvee

This album blew me away. With its deep primordial grooves spun in the freshest new style. This is truly musicianship at its finest. This album is beautifully composed and produced. This album speaks directly to the Human emotions within. I am picky when it comes to my electronic music and this is an easy five stars. Bring on the next albun HOL Baumann. Tracks 3 and 9 are great to try before going ll the way. If you dig this you should check out Hoopy Frood, Healer, HUVA.

"Intelligent" is right...

This is a fantastic album. Excellent flow from one song to the next -- combining deep bass-lines and hypnotic tones to create a sound that can hold its own in just about any situation, or simply drift into the background. I can't wait to hear more from Hol Baumann, as this is definitely my favorite of the many Ultimae albums I have downloaded. If you like this, also check out I AWAKE -- great music there as well.

Sophisticated electronica

DeathByZamboni

Outstanding. The snippets of this album are deceiving--this is rich, intelligent electronica. Somewhere in a land between ambient, techno and dubstep but carving out its own unique territory, [Human] really takes you somewhere. It envelops in a world touchingly melancholic about the human condition but not depressingly so. Take your time and let this seep in. Heady without being obscure, experimental without being irritating...it's my new favorite. Hit repeat and tune out.
