Hound Dog's got it!

krell

A number of years ago I acquired a disk called "Slidin' Some Slide," a compilation with tracks from the likes of Smokin Joe Kubeck, Elmore James, George Thorogood, Lil' Ed and a dozen other great slide men. On it was a track by Hound Dog, Gimme Back My Wig, which was memorable to me, even among that collection. What a joy for me to find more tracks from this down to the bone, give-it-all-up artist.

Does ALANT realise that HDT died in 1975? Ripped off who??? Or was it irony?

Just gotta love this boogie. Wait a moment this cat is ripping off The Great George Thorogood stealing the classic Madison Blues and putting his own name on it ; ) Amazing stuff play loud and often

Low down dirty blues. No subtleties here at all. Crank it up to 11!!

They Say All Music Guide

The first album and the perfect place to start. Wild, raucous, crazy music straight out of the South Side clubs. The incessant drive of Hound Dog’s playing is best heard on “Give Me Back My Wig,” “55th Street Boogie,” and “Taylor’s Rock,” while the sound of Brewer Phillips’ Telecaster on “Phillips’ Theme” gives new meaning to the phrase “sheet metal tone.” One of the greatest slide guitar albums of all time. – Cub Koda
