Not Grade One

Frozenpypes

The band on this recording isn't identified, but the playing sounds like grade four or poor grade three. The instruments are tuned flatter than is usual these days, so this is clearly an older recording. There is no crispness, and very little attempt at harmonization. Plus, there many very audible mistakes. The drum corps lacks sparkle, and the tone of the bass drum is akin to the bottom of a metal trash can. I'm glad I downloaded this during my "trial" period. I wouldn't want to have paid for it.
