Ear Magic
I agree with reviewers who say "listen with headphones." I'm not a fan of songs about romantic angst or of electronica, but there is so much freakin' INTERESTING STUFF to hear in this album, I keep coming back to it again and again.

This is a beautiful, wonderfully produced, brilliantly composed album. One of those rare records you will come back to over and over through the years.
This album keeps haunting me lately. I keep asking myself "what's this weird song I'm humming today?" and usually the answer is Imogen Heap. At first I thought it was a touch overproduced... like it could hit more on a gut level. But there is a lot of time and care put into each and every song that is seriously impressive. Worth listening to with headphones on too..
Great songs that get better with each listen. At first they sound pretty simple and you focus on her voice. But as you listen more and more, you hear all the extra synths, melodies, basslines, and electronic tricks that Imogen adds to each song. So simple, but so complex.
Take a moment to listen to this album with headphones. What will astound you is how much detail Imogen puts into each and every song. Much like Kate Bush, she invests into each song so much time and energy that you'll find yourself obsessed with each one in turn. My personal favorite is 'Have You Got It In You', however an easy lead in to the album is the extremely catchy 'Goodnight and Go'. Try that first. From there, pick a track... any track.
Imogen Heap is one of the true artists that creates and produces her own music. Her style is unique and very creative. I highly recommend this album to anyone who truly enjoys creative, beautiful music.
With distinctive vocal harmony floating somewhere above the electronic undercurrents of rhythm and moody reflection, this album is a fusion of ethereal ambience and the minor-keyed grit of everyday. Nothing quite like the brilliance of Hide and Seek. Beautiful. Some tracks hold together better than others, but it's all worth a listen to be sure.
