The Future of Music

Will.SR

While this record may not be as big a hit with Infected Mushrooms older fans, the duo are still as good as ever. Like on Converting Vegetarians they experiment, only now departing from the Psy-trance genre like never before, forging new frontier for psychedelic music and reinventing old genres in the process. Track 2 is a hip-hop, track 6 is popish, 4 is clearly metal inspired, while track 8 is more a power ballad. Most tracks feature actual singing which itself is unusual for Psytrance. Duvdev may not be a great singer but IM compensate with beautiful vocal processing. Highlights are tracks, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.

Amazing!!!

My wife and I both LOVE this album! Maybe cause we are also hardcore metal heads, there are some Rock influences but I say keep your mind open and be willing to listen to something new! I give it 5/5 stars cause this album ROCKS!!!

Good but not up to par

bwillmarth

While not up to their previous works of sheer brilliance (namely Converting Vegetarians and Classical Mushroom) where twists and awesome themes surprised you at every turn, IM's newest album is still worth getting despite its focus on style and instrumentation versus wicked, complex variation. Heavy Weight and Change the Formality are highly recommended.

Some Great Moments

kmburss

If you like KMFDM's later stuff then you'll probably like this. There are some great moments in this album. Yes it's techno rock and not quite as psychedelic as you might expect, but dont let that deter you from sampling a few tracks. 'Forgive Me' has a really funky groove to it, and 'Becoming Insane' when cranked nice and loud is a belter. Try slipping on a pair of decent headphones and listen - there are all kinds of tweaky sounds in there that bounce around and i love that kind of thing. Give it a whirl, it's well worth it IMO.

Hate It.

sondericker

I really love the early IM psytrance stuff. This is not psytrance though, so if that is what you're expecting better to move on. The mix of 80's hair metal whammy-bar guitar riffs and techno-grooves just felt retro in a "Dokken or Poison buy a synth" kind of a way. Can't think of a good thing to say about this album... but your mileage may vary.

Vicious Delicious is the eighth studio album by recognized Israeli trance duo Infected Mushroom issued in 2007. It found the band expanding their patented trance sound with a variety of elements borrowed from different musical styles, like rock guitar riffs, overlapping vocal samples, ethnic instruments, and electronic breakbeats. – Sergey Mesenov
