Dark powerpop treasure
Isa & the Filthy Tongues is a Scottish/USA alternative rock group originating from Edinburgh. Members of this band were previously in the Scottish rock band Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie who recorded four albums (and are known for being the first group of Garbage's Shirley Manson) & Angelfish. In 2009, Isa & the Filthy Tongues had their music extensively exploited in The Skids frontman Richard Jobson's movie `New Town Killers' starring Dougray Scott. The band had four songs on the soundtrack, one of which was the theme song (and Dark Passenger track) 'New Town Killers' with lyrics composed by Richard Jobson. The `Dark Passenger' album is a strident and brooding epic fusion of rock 'n' roll, surf music, dark punk and psychedelic rhythms. The bonus second CD contains prior tracks remixed by Joe Hay, vocal contributions from Richard Jobson and a dark, whiplash cover of `The Model' that has been sanctioned by Kraftwerk.
