They Say All Music Guide

With members of Chiodos, Emarosa, Fordirelifesake, and Dance Gavin Dance (just to name a few), Isles & Glaciers are basically a modern post-hardcore supergroup. It comes as no surprise that with a roster seven members deep, the bandÂ’s sound is incredibly eclectic. Epic Coheed and Cambria-style riffs play out over the top of sweeping synthesizer atmospherics with a combination of live and programmed drums holding down the beat. With so many influences at work from the members of other projects, it would be easy for an album like this to either be too simple or a slapdash hodgepodge of sounds, but Isles & Glaciers find a way to make it work, giving the listener something that manages to be both familiar and adventurous. As an EP, The Hearts of Lonely People is a very promising start from these guys, and should definitely please fans of any of the bands they are associated with. – Gregory Heaney
