As good if not better than before

Alciato65

This is an unbelievable album. I have all their others and when they split I was sad, but I thought. ‘ That’s it, move on’. Seeing this, my initial reaction was that they couldn’t exist without Dunnery but I was so wrong. It’s amazing how little difference his absence has made and how well the new singer/guitarist integrates and how their sound has thus, not only survived but matured and become richer. I hope this represents a new era of productivity for them and that something else will follow.

Sweet Melodic Prog ... (... with actual SONGS!)

ProgPariah77

This album is an exceptional example of melodic prog. The new vocalist/guitarist John Mitchell brings both a warm earthiness and an authoritative crunch to the overall sound - not a replacement for Francis Dunnery, but an excellent alternative to It Bites' former frontman. The title track (while not as "progressive" as other tracks) calls to mind an epic celtic "burial at sea," while the album opener sets up the proceedings with a polyrhythmic vocal cascade. If you are familiar with Kino's "Picture" album from a few years back, you might regard this one as its follow-up. Highly recommended overall!
