J.J. Cale Naturally
From the very first listen this one has been on my top ten list.

I actually first heard this album in Europe along with other of Cale's albums. Ironic? He was greatly appreciated over seas more than here. It is a shame because he is a master. He is what Jack Johnson aspires to be. Eric Clapton's version of \"After Midnight\" and \"Cocaine\" are great adaptations but I urge anyone to check out the smooth originals. A steal at under $7!
If you grew up in the South in the early 1970's, "Crazy Mama" is firmly imprinted in your head as it was a big regional Top-40 hit. If you aren't from the South and aren't familiar with this album you should buy it immediately. Obviously everyone knows his songs "After Midnight" and "Call Me the Breeze" but the other big cut off this album that got lots of airplay on Rock stations back in the 70's was "Magnolia". Great CD from a great artist.
It's great to notice JJ Cale getting some latter days attention with his recent duo album with Clapton. One glance at the track list of this seminal recording shows the whispering loner's big influence on the 70s Sound. This is a dandy disc to listen to with the lights dimmed and some sandalwood incense in the air. It captures the era so well!
This is as good as it gets. It is still as wonderful to listen to today as it was in 1971.
Wish I still had this album. It was a pleasure just to look at the cover. The music speaks for itself and says superb over and over again. Must have for your collection.
worth 10x the price - a rare gem. like an unfolding story, laid back, relaxed, good vibe
I worked a show where JJ Cale opened for Traffic, and the boys in Traffic stood transfixed on the side of the stage. This guy has been a huge influence on everyone from Eric Clapton to Chris Isaak. Don't miss this!
